Until recently, scanning was used purely to archive documents; filing and indexing were performed manually. Today scanning is increasingly important as business requirements evolve. Batches of documents need to be scanned in one go and completed automatically with file name and metadata before they are stored in different cloud services.
Filing Assist, in combination with superior Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX devices, accelerates a business’s digital transition. It saves time, reduces keying errors and brings consistency to your filing so you can find what you need, when you need it, wherever you have internet access; at home, work or on the go.

After authentication at the device, batches of documents can be scanned in no time, by utilizing pre-configured Filing Assist scan workflows. Scan jobs are sent to the cloud for further processing.
Once uploaded, documents are processed. Document types are automatically recognized, based on document structure and fixed text positions, and file name and metadata are pre-populated.
Back at the desk, the scans are available in the uniFLOW Online Scan Center. The user can screen all scanned documents to check if the pre-populated file name and metadata are correct. Where errors are detected, the preview can be opened to edit the OCR-result or select a different OCR block that meets metadata requirement in order to make corrections. Once done, documents are submitted to their final destination by hitting the ‘Send’ button.
Intelligent forms recognition ensures documents are recognized and pre-populated with the correct file name and metadata. The automatic data population makes time-consuming and error-prone manual filing and indexing obsolete. Thanks to pre-populated file names and metadata, it is fast and straightforward to search and retrieve documents when they are needed.
